I grew up in San Antonio, Texas and began my career as a carpenter in my teens after I dropped out of high school. Having become an accomplished and desirable woodworker, I went back to school to get a degree in Biblical Studies from Florida College in Tampa. In college I discovered a deep love for reading, writing, teaching and public speaking and ended up building all that into the business around windows I created. One of my dreams is to inspire a group of Artisan rebels who would love nothing more than to help turn corporate welfare and planned obsolescence on its head.

My Background

Predominantly my medium is wood, but since windows are more than just wood, I also use a lot of glass, putty, paints and stains.

When I write, I like to use a blue pen.

My Inspiration

I’m an outdoor person to the core and can’t stand the idea of wearing a suit. Madly passionate about my family, I spend as much time with them as I can. I love taking my kids for bike rides in nature and then going out for ice cream.  Right now I’m reading The Gulag Archipelago by Aleksandr  Solzhenitsyn and try to write daily in my journal.

Wood Window Makeover in 2016

I decided, in 2009, to host a workshop to help people better understand their historic homes and it evolved into a hands on event that attracts people from around the country. This video, produced by Documentary Film Maker Brett Culp in 2016, captures some of the spirit of my endeavors at the time.

Historic Homes Workshop 2019

This video, produced by Evan Cooper showcases the Historic Homes Workshop that took place at the Historic (and haunted) May-Stringer House in Brooksville, Florida. People again came from all over the country and together with other like minded businesses, we were able to donate over $50,000 worth of repairs and restoration.
